'02 Odyssey Misterious Missfire, Help
Got an '02 Odyssey, cam in with bad coil a few weeks ago, changed 2 coils, all plugs, F/I service. Ran fine. Came back with a miss fire only when cold, starts a minute or so after start-up, only in gear, randomly dropps cylinders, some times feels like one at a time, at time many in a row, got p301 and p305 out of it one time. After a few minutes of running miss seems to be gone. It will actually stall at times. Adjusted valves, changed the other 4 coils, cleaned EGR passages, PCV valve was clogged so we changed it, replaced all the plugs again, decorboned upper cylinders again, ran pressurized F/I cleaner on it.
Any ideas??????
Thanks

I had the same issues with a 05 pilot, did simliar diag with moving injectors coils and so on. I tried a valve adjustment it helped for a lil bit. Sadly it came back, I and the customer were pissed. Anyway yes it is a cold start misfire, etc sensor is below or around 60-70, the data list map sensor was jumping around from I think .80 v to over 1 v. Then I knew...carbon built on the valve's so they would close all the way when closed, so being the truck was under honda care I replaced the head and she ran smooth as butter. Also lasty make sure you dont have a head gasket issue. They can be tricky, also temp related.
OMG dude ive replaced like 3 engines and half dozen heads with that ****. Replaced the enignes because customers didn't want the rings an rod bearings because as we know a b20 with 160,000 miles or more and fresh top end and shaved head will cause a smoker lol. Yea man valve adjustment is imperative for the good old b20, rec alteast every 30k and room temp only, NO hot head!!! So what did you find with the oddy man.
