again... what's a bolt-on? i hear it a lot in this forum...

 

parts that you "bolt on" to your car with no modifications. Like taking out the stock intake, headers or exhaust, and just bolting (screwing) on a new one.

basics bolt-ons would be

intake/headers/exhaust

 

Basically whatever you can do that doesn't require you to open up the head/block.

Once you get beyond bolt-ons, the $$ and labour costs go up a ton, so most people talk in terms of bolts as that's what most people do, and are relatively simple.

you guys realize that techically turbo/supercharger/nitrous are all bolt ons as well. no major modifiactions, and no fabrication when install them.

 

I think when people refer to bolt-ons, it's in the naturally aspirated sense.
