Default JDM D15b swap questions 56k no no no no

Ok peeps. I've got a 94 Civic LX 4d with a blowhard D15b7 and an Auto Tranny.

I just grabbed a D15b with a Manual tranny. It came with the rest of the car lol. I've got all the original parts from the motor and tranny because the donor car is still intact and runs. Is there anything else I will need to make this swap work seemlessly?

for the record, there's a reason it's a donor... it's not the motor and tranny though. I'll see if I can get some pics up of this thing that was a civic

Definitely swap the front knuckles. They're 10.3" (integra sized) on the "donor" and like 8.9" or something on the car you're wanting to drop the other motor in. The brake master cylinder and booster is also worth swapping. 15/16" on the "donor" and 13/16" on the recipient. I think the seat rails on the "donor" are special, like they shoot the seat forward along with it bending forward. The EX Civic has bigger front speakers I think, and maybe tweeter pods (they were in my brother's EX). You can keep the tail lights and headlights, anything suspension/brake related, carpet, dash, electrical...gut the wiring for the power mirrors to sell

-Ok, obviously you need the whole motor from the donor. Keep your old IACV and bolt it to the new motor, or convert your car to use the other type, your choice.
-Transmission, be sure to use the flywheel bolts to bolt the flywheel on, not the bolts holding the flex plate on. The flywheel bolts are longer.
-Mounts: exactly what's on the donor, but you need a special mount for the upper transmission mount or you have to drill the welds out and buy the manual transmission mount bracket and weld it on in place of the auto mount. Look and you'll see what I mean. Your engine will sit crooked if you put manual trans in a auto chassis without doing either of these.
-Electrical. Swap gauge clusters. The "donor" doesn't have the automatic gear shift dealy and has the redline at the right place on the tach. Swap ECUs, it's just unbolting them and unplugging, etc (Easy). You have to modify wiring for the back up light, and clutch interlock switch will be wired to the old transmission neutral switch wires. Use the donor engine harness on the recipient. You'll have to wire in VTEC...two wires. Just look it up, it's easy.
-clutch, other shift- You have to bolt in the manual transmission pedals and clutch master cylinder and add in the line...or run a custom line. Your auto shifter will unbolt and the manual shifter will bolt right in. Add the shifter boot to the console exactly how it is in the donor.

Just do everything at the same time and get like 3 guys working on it. I bet you could do it in one night.

Wow thats awesome. So apparently the only thing I need that I dont have is the special mount for the tranny. Does anyone know what the special mount is that I need for thr upper transmission and where I can find one?

You sure about the knuckles? The recipient is a ABS model with 4 wheels discs stock. Also what about the axles, should/can they be swapped as well?

hasport or someone makes it, but the mount that you weld on is cheaper.

I thought the LX came with the base level brakes. Well, I'm pretty sure they'd be the same size in that case. Just sell the knuckles off the donor. Theres still quite a bit of good stuff on that car...don't just send it to the junkyard.

Yea some well most LX models dont have the ABS setup. It's been a bitch to find parts for it. Anyone need a front bumper? lol Anyway, what about said axles on the donor?

I believe so. I believe that lowers the transmission and aligns it right again. It's a little steep. The metal bracket is like $30 from Honda

I think both are fairly off the shelf pieces. A lot of people do the auto-manual conversion...
