91 crx si with JDM d15b wont start
I have a 91 crx si that I swapped a d15b into last year. Its been running great for over 20k miles until the other day when I went over some railroad tracks and it stalled out. Imediately after hitting the bump the car stalled and the check engine light came on along with the oil light. Both of these dash lights stay on after turning the key.
Initially I thought the fuel pump may have crapped out, because there's no fuel at the rail when I turn it over.
I took apart the fuel tank and the pump tests out fine
What do you think happened? I plan to shake down the engine electrical when i get home this evening, but let me know what you think.
thanks,
nate

nope, oil pan is fine. No oil leaks. I dont understand why the oil light stays on... it's my understanding that it's an oil level warning, not pressure. The oil level is fine.
Don't worry about that light. It's on because the engine isn't running and not building any pressure.

Not true... Even if the engine is not running it will still build pressure when it is cranking. The light will in fact go off after about 5 PSI (or so can't remember the exact pressure) just from turning the motor over.
all the fuses check out.. i'll check the dizzy when i get home... i don't understand why the fuel pump doesn't kick on when i turn the key, even though the fuel pump is functional.
the other thing that confuses me is that the check engine light comes on.. I was under the impression that the jumper harnes i used in my jdm d15b swap eliminated the dash CEL... what am i missing
Check to see if the oil pressure sensor wire came off the block for the oil light issue. For it not starting, is it turning over but not catching or is the engine not turning over at all?
In his post, he said the car stalled and the oil light came on. When it's stalled, the motor isn't turning... :-P When he is cranking it will build pressure and go off, but if it just stalled, it's not going to have oil pressure.
yes this is the strange part. The oil light stays on when the key is turned to the on position and the engine is not cranking over. In other words the oil light is always on when the key is on (along with the check engine light)
new info...
the oil sender is still plugged in.
there is no spark
found a wire that may have grounded out in the fuel injector harness near the pass. side strut mount. rewired it. still no fire.
Could a short have fried the ecu?
i'm still at a loss here
