Brightest/Whitest 9005/9006
just curious what is the brightest/whitest headlights for our EF's. since its not really plausible to retrofit some HID's with our glass housings what is the next alternative? i havent tried the Luminics Titanium bulbs but if someone has please chime in.
They have fantasic "jdm" yellows which i had as highbeams, i also have their "ultra" white which are kind of lame since they have the blue coating on them. The titanium bulbs dont have the coating and are double in price from all the other colors that luminics offers.
throw some brands out there cuz im curious i really want something super white with NO color to them.

It took me longer to mount the ballasts then it did to wire them. Cuz its all plug in play!!!

Ummm. Im not sure what you mean by "retrofit" But im Running HID's in my ED. They were cake to instal, and bright as f*&k. Probably the easyest instal i have ever done in my life.

since just regular plug and play kits are actually illegal because your stock headlights dont focus the light enough and potentially blind oncoming traffic
ding ding ding!! thats why kits are crap IMO...anyways do you guys have suggestions? i know i need to look for anything with higher than stock output wattage (55-60w). i've just come across some that are 100w output but i dont want to just buy them without hearing some other/better options.
oh.
Gotcha
that makes sence. But as long as you dont go a crazy colored hid, you shouldnt have a prob.
ive ahd mine in for about 4 months, and had a crap load of pullovers. almost every one of them have had me pop my hood. They always ask "what are those 4 chrome things?"
i tell them HID's and they say, OK.
just tip you headlghts down a bit and you will be fine.

I drive next to cops almost everyday with 8k hids in my ej8 and ef8 front end and have no issues with them.
On a side note, almost all lighting that is brighter than normal will be considered illegal. Don't believe me look at most of the packages out there for the "xenon" lights. They list and I quote "for off road use only" technically making them not suitable for road conditions and only for show. I have only prsonally seen about 2 or 3 companies who sell street legal high wattage bulbs. Buy you have to remember laws vary from state to state.
Just don't go to crazy when doind an hid plug n play kit, I don't go highr than 8k.

Your Responsibility
Given the extra resulting illumination, it is essential that your headlights be properly aligned to assure safety when using HIR bulbs.* In addition, you should check with your local authorities to be sure that there is no legal restrictions to using the HIR in your area.

See, even listed on here check to see which lights are legal in you area before proceeding.

well i just ordered some more JDM yellows from Lumincs Krypton. they are 55w 3000k but the yellow gives a nice "glossy" reflection off of street signs and the reflectors on the road. i had these are lowbeams with no issues but im going to use them as highs only this time around.
I hope you realize that the stock wiring might need to be upgraded if your looking at something as crazy as 100w headlight bulbs, the heat and extra amperage is a fire just waiting to start, if your planning on 100w why not really just go hid? 100w bulbs or hids your still blinding others.

i WONT use an HID kit, but i would retrofit but i havent seen this done on EF glass housing headlights. the only thing i can think of is getting those ricer plastic housing headlights and then gutting out whatever lighting is in there, then replacing it with some other honda/acura HID's.
You had a yellow bulb in your lowbeams? I think that would throw up more flags for Johnny Law than an HID conversion....
I would have to agree with DVS SI on the Nightbreakers. I have used these as off-road lighting and they are fantastic!

haha actually i got pulled over cuz i had red bumper lenses and corner lights...since i was screwed already, i decided to ask the cop if my yellow lowbeams were illegal and he said, "as long as the output in in the color spectrum from white to yellow your fine."
If you plan on retro fitting, I may have some TSX projectors for sale soon. If my lazy *** ever gets around to installing the new headlamps on the wife car lol!
i really dont want to get those stupid plastic housing headlights...

thats the plastic ones if you were curious.
I would like to know more about retrofitting with projectors as well as I'm in no hurry to put an hid kit on the sedan anyway cause the light is thrown everywhere, anyways all I was saying is ohms law says its a bad idea to put 100w bulbs on those stock 18ga wires.
I made my own clear covers. $6 at Lowes / headlight.

Now you can retrofit without worrying about the fluted lens, I originally did it with the fluted lens and it scattered light everywhere!
