Default D15B or D16z6

Oks guys. I'm about to buy a new motor and manual tranny for my 94 lx sedan. The seller says its a JDM motor. I'm skeptical about that but it is what it is. How do I tell the difference between a D15B and a D16z6 or even Y8? I was thinkin about the head cover sayin VTEC but it's easy enough to change a head cover. Oh and yes it is a VTEC engine just to throw that out there

on the left side of the block, right beside where the tranny goes, under the coolant passage will be a flat plate looking thing that'll either say d15b, d16z6 or whatever other Dxxxx it is. also, you could look on the head for p28 if it's a z6. it won't be as obvious though.
