93 LX Wagon Gauge Assembly Circuit Board
My daughters have a 93 LX wagon automatic at school in FL. The speedometer and odometers started working intermittently (all working together or not) and all the safety indicators (doors open, brake light) were lit all the time. Should have done more troubleshooting of the speedo issue first, but after replacing the VSS, I finally traced the problem to the guage assembly. Two areas of corrosion on the printed circuit board in the vicinity of the speedo and safety indicator circuits. Honda says the boards are no longer available and that the gauge assembly is common only to the 92 and 93 wagons with automatics. The only difference I noted was that the wagon has a 140 mph speedo, the sedan 130 mph.
For the short term, I found a 92 LX sedan gauge assembly with some corrosion on the board (but not in the area of the speedo, odo circuits). I installed that board with the original speedo and odometer from the wagon and everything appears to work correctly. I would like to find a board without corrosion.
All that for this question: Does anyone konw what makes the wagon gauge cluster unique or if just the circuit board is common to other models?
