Default B tranny on F block?!

ok so i was reading super street and they said someone has made a plate that allows you to bolt a B-series tranny to an H-block now ive also heard that the H-series tranny can bolt on to an F-block so with this new plate do you think we can put B-series trans in our F powered accords also would this work with the H-heads bolted to the F. now thats one hell of a frankenstien.

Yup, H to B also know as K20 killa. It would probably bolt up to the F with that plate, but I don't know how your gonna mount it into the accord. The last time I checked my accord had a cable tranny and I'm sure yours dose too. But hey anything is possible.

That kit was made to be fitted into Civics and Integras It solved the axle problems people were having due to the axles being aligned horribly. Use an H2B kit in an Accord (and custom fab mounts to fit it) and you're likely to have axle problems, but that's speculation as of now.

Yeah, Bisi don't make H2B for Accords; Not that I know of. That would be sweet though if they make a plate for us Accords to be able to use the B-Series transaxle.

Now, you can use a H-Series trans on a F-Series engine. It's been done and of course shorter gear ratios. Same with head freinkenstein; G22/G23 swaps.

You can do a B series trans on an H or F as stated above but not in our accord chassis yet, well at least a production ready kit that is. If you wanted to do it with some money and someone with some know how, anything is possible.

Dont know why you would need to go to a B series other than more gearing choices though. H/F series transmissions seem to be holding up pretty well unless your pushing some bigger power running slicked up routinely putting it through its paces.

Get an H tranny and change the final drive to get even lower gearing, should make it somewhat comperable to a b transaxle

I thought we had hydraulic trannies, hence the hydraulic/brake fluid reservoir.

they are refering to the shifter style boys. b transaxle is two bars and h series has two cables that shift the trans. the hydro is just the clutch depression and release mechanism

oh ok.

i stand corrected. thought he was saying the clutch type.

i always thought the G23 with a b series trans in an accord would make a fun drag car.

B series tranny on a H/F is good for one thing and one thing only... H swap in a civic/ Integra to compensate for axle angle... I have blown up more H trannys than most have SEEN with my setup in the CD5.

The B trannys are dimensionally smaller and the gears Weaker than the H trannys. TRUST ME... The ONLY advantage would be the readily available gearset components available...

Although PPG offers a really nice dogbox for the H... H syncro straightcut forged sets are not readily available... I have been in touch with Eric at Bullhead (PPG distributor in the US) as hes local to me about putting together a Syncroed H set.... Just need people to step up....

I already have a straightcut syncro box now anyways so at over 650 WHP I beat the shiiiit out of the car and its proven reliable

If the B series tranny was worth it Id have oner in the car trust me. Its just not worth it... Also nnoteworthy is that Ive been running OEM H series prelude axles ion my car (full interiuor EX) for over a year and a half without any issues... The car makes 520 on pump and has M and H 235/60-15 DOTS on it and it HOOKS.

Havent broken one yet. LMK if youd like more info on whats neeeded to run the Lude axles... Ittl save yuou about 800 on some DSS **** or the gators...

Heres a site for a 5the gear cuff for OEM style gearsets

Wrong. LSD has nothing to do with shredding gears. Ive broken more than one ring gear too. Nor is the F20B tranny "more like a B". Its cable shifted and internally like an H not a B (even closer to an F than a B)

Nevertheless you still miss the point the B trannys are NOT stronger than the H. Do the math... The H made a good bit more power from the factory. The trannys (H) are engineered to take more power. The reason the B series tranny is advantageous is listed above and not one has to do with being stronger than the H).

Hertes some ****

How is it that even forged, straight cut gears are being torn apart? I understand the B trannies are weaker from the factory, but I would assume using forged/cryo-treated parts would solve the issue. Since those are straight cut gears, I'm assuming that tranny was just meant for abuse and it had finally taken too much of it, even for its design.

POWER POWER POWER.... They arent breaking on shifts (I also have a Tilton FCV on it). Its always been after the shift and the turbo hits. My **** hits HARD too... LOL Obviously.

Heat treated OEM stuff fails too.... Buddys trying some Cryo stuff locally thats at around 610WHP in a 3rd gen lude.. He was just starting to regularly break OEM stuiff (most always its 2nd and fourth gear as did I)

The forged gear breakage was due in part to the fact that I got a prototype gearset from them... The ratios (read tooth count) of the gears had changed (for fewer teeth, allowing MORE material)

Enough power will break anything!!!!!
Add a twin disk
ALOT of Tq for a honda
A heavy *** car

I bought my set used.. I blame fatigue. Since upgrading the 2-3-4 sets I have beaten the **** out of it and had no issues since. All season at >650 WHP and the car hooks pretty damn good.

a B tranny wouldnt handle the f's torque well since it was made for a car that had about as much torque as a gerbal in one of those little rolly ball things, thats just speculation tho.

Depending on what engine and trans your refering to.. The Bseries engines arnt very far behing in torqe #s compared to the F.. In stock form that is..
The reason its not a very good option for most is the gear issue.. They are weak.
