Icon3 Starter/Electrical Issues

Ok so I go down the list of mods associated with this problem.

I have my battery relocated to the back.
It's an optima red top if that matters (720 CCA might blow something?)
I'm using 0 gauge wire for the power and for the ground but I'm still using the stock wires that split off for the starter and the fuse box wires.
the fuse box has been relocated under the dash.
I did not cut any wires to do this.

Oh yeah its a JDM H22A.

Okay so heres to the problem.
My friend and I were working on my car with a previous problem weve been having with the car overheating and i had hardwired the fan to make an attempt to cool it off. We hooked it up to the starter bolt to get power because thats the closet and easiest power source that always gets power.
Well with that my friend put it on and it sparked becuase it wasn't held on securely.

so then we try to crank it and the starter solenoid starts clicking very loudly.
and obvious sign that the starter went bad.

took the starter to O'reilys and got a usdm starter thinking it should work.
E.G. the bolts and solenoid and everything are the same.
well i get it home and it doesn't click at all when i try to start it.
the starter whirrs a littl bit but not enough to turn over.
I used a test light to check it and the wire from the battery and from the ignition swithc have power.
everything else in the car works fine.
Radio turns on, lights come on, pwr windows, and the sunroof.
Checked the fuses and the fuses are good too.

I tried for hours to figure this out.

thanks in advance H-T

Try jumping the starter and ignition terminals on the solenoid. If you don't get any action then the new solenoid is probably damaged inside. Even if the solenoid is broken, you should always be able to jump the terminals together and start the car.

You could also check the ground wire on the solenoid and make sure its secured. I'm sure your aware but the starter is a bad place to hardwire anything because of the huge power spikes that go on while starting your car.
