Well my brother and i put everything back together after the new clutch and gasket set, well when we went to start the car there is a loud BUZZING noise, i think it has something to do with the dizzy wires, Im just wondering if anyone has delt with this before, and what i could do to fix it fast? Thanks for any help

that is the fuel pump primeing haha. it if is loud i suggest buying another fuel pump and keeping it in the car. then since yours is going out, when it does die, you can replace it

my car did this exact same thing last year, after the loud noise started my fuel pump lasted about a month before it wouldnt start.

i dont think its a fuel pump, i have heard a loud fuel pump and its a different sound, plus when i go to start it my bro messes with the wire harness that is by the dizzy and it will go away, I know its common knowledge to say , WELL THERE UR PROBLEM, but i was just wondering if anyone has come across this and to see what to do fast.

fuel pump primes for about one entire second when you turn your key to position two.
the main relay only clicks, nothing more, no sound longer. so no it isnt your main relay.

no if your car isnt starting and its silent, then its probably a main relay not clicking on.

ive been through fuel pump and main relay swaps about 3 times, and its the same sounds everytime. fuel pumps do sound sorta loud when they are dying, some times higher pitch then others. it doesnt have to be the exact same sound that you had last time. but if it is the problem when you turn the key to #2 and it lasts for about an entire second, it is the fuel pump whether or not you want to accept it lol.

 

accept what? im saying that the sound goes away when my brother moves sum wires around that are located right next to the dizzy, and if he takes his hand off the wires then the noise will start again, im not saying its not the fuel pump, the damn car has 229k on it, im just saying the noise comes from whatever these wires blah blah blah, just went brain dead my bad.

 

sounds like the main relay...or it sounds like you have a loose ground wire. check and make sure all your grounds are tight

 

^ That was the problem the grounds on the thermostat housing were loose. Good call. Thanks for the help.
