I have a 96 acura integra.I just bought it a month ago. The first couple of weeks everything was fine. the third week until now I keep blowing the Taillight/dash fuse. I would change a fuse everyday. it would work until i drive for a little then the fuse just pop. then i repeat these steps everyday with changing th fuse. I'm funning out of 10amp fuses and money for the fuse. The pass owner rigged the **** out of the bumper turn signal lights with 18 ft speaker wires, i rewire and used heat shrink electrical tape and wire loom. The car does not have the small corner bulbs connectors they only have the large bulb connecter with bulbs. I havnt had time to go buy any but this couldnt be the problemor maybe it could be the problem. i douno but any who after rewiring the bumper lights in the front, I saw water in the bumper lights, Could this be the problem? (It wasnt alot of water).
I'mgetting really frustraded can someone me out???? I'm running out of ideas. and tired of changing the fuse everyday. I called the last owner and he said it only happened to him twice. Also one of the bulb in the cluser is dead.

The fuse that keeps on going out is the Tail Light fuse. that fuse controls the dash board, lights to the bumper/corner light and tail lights brake lights etc.
OK, I actually did have the exact same problem, when I was driving through W. Mass. on the Pike late at night. I had to stay in a B&B in West Stockbridge, actually, but the people were all super cool there and gave me an awesome rate and free pizza (another story).
You may not like my solution, though: the next morning I went to a mechanic and bought a bunch of fuses off of him. Then I reached my hand behind the center console where the CD player is, and just jostled the hell out of the wires back there. No problem since.
My reasoning was that the problem started fairly soon after I had gotten my car stolen and re-installed the CD player. I thought I may have left some loose connections but I didn't want to take out the CD player in the middle of West Stockbridge, so I just jostled the wires instead. Now I'm afraid to ever take the player out and see if I can actually figure out what happened...
Good luck, shorts are a b*tch.

I just shook them around with my hands sort of forcibly. The idea was that if there was an input wire shorting to ground and blowing the fuse, rearranging the wires would be likely to stop the short.
this is true It is the dimmer wire that is uninsulated it uses the same fuse as your taillight fuse meaning they share the 1 fuse
Pull out your head unit and make sure all wires that are not hooked up are properly insulated.
they are the same fuse.
check your dimmer wire. it was probably left un taped or poorly insulated or even accidentally tampered when your head unit was installed. and im not sayin u jst installed your head unit but prob over a period of time by drivin n wat no the wire has moved some how making it short out giv it a go man it happend to me i garrentee it will work

there is a i believe a blk/red wire in the back of the radio that if exposed will ground out and pop the fuse. this is very common if you have an aftermerket radio. remove the radio and inspect the wire

Well I have a stock radio?? lol I'm thinking about pulling the dash out and checking the wires. When I got the car the front bumper lights was rigged with 17 ft speaker wire WHY? I have no clue, I bought the car a month ago and been having the problem since. I rewire the bumper lights and used heat shrink and electrical tape and wire loom. I double check all the wires before taping to see if there was any kink in the wires and I though this was going to fix the blown fuse problem but it didn’t. The other day I install a bulb in the cluster hoping it would fix it because one was out but it didn’t. last night I saw that the tail light wires was rigged as well with speaker wire but it seems like the wire are all taped up correct, I wiggled it and the fuse did not blow, but I’m going rewire it using the same technique I used with the front bumper lights. Also the other night I took the radio out with the lights on and started to wiggle the radio cord around to see if it would blow the fuse. But it seems like every time I hit a bump the fuse would blow. I did a check by leaving the lights on and going around and hitting the all the light that associate with the fuse but nothing happen, I also wiggled almost every wire including the radio, dimmer button and both bumper light wires and all tail light wires but no fuse was blown. But when I drive and hit a bump it blows??
IDK, because when I first wiggled the wires behind the head unit I blew a fuse (post-wiggling it was OK though). When you change the headunit you don't have to change any wires, you just connect the new wiring harnesses. I think the wire they are talking about could still cause trouble even on a stock stereo, but I don't know because I haven't looked since I put in the headunit 7-8 years ago. It's worth a shot, though, because it only takes 10 minutes or so to get back there. I'll check myself and get that wire insulated, but I'll probably wait until spring.

I'm thinking about yanking the dash out and checking. i don't know what to do. i took it to the shop and dude charged me 60 bucks and told me he found the problem and fixed it. but i thin that fool just put a new fuse it because it happen again that night. but he told me to bring it back and he would trace the wire. damn ***** charged me 60 bucks and didnt even fix it. i bet you anything he just replaced the fuse
