tranmission help

gonna buy a type-r tranny this week how can i tell if its a typr-r if its not in the car?

S80 serial number, LSD stamped on it and you can see if it has LSD or not!!!

But without open it very hard to know if it has the correct gear ratio.

if its off the car look through where the axle goes. if u c a pin that its a open diff tranny and def not a ITR trans. if u dont c anything then it has a LSD. if it a ITR trans it will have LSD stamped on it.
