the model number actually does you no good...you will need the radio serial number and honda dealers look it up on their internet database...

Well guess what?

Your only other source is a Honda dealer. Call them or go in person with the serial number and proof of ownership.

Newer Hondas/Acuras they have a "ownership" webpage where you can enter the info and get the serial. Old ones you can't do it any other way than going to a dealer's service/parts department.

Sounds to me like you bought a stolen radio, you know it's stolen, and are afraid that the dealer will realize it's stolen and keep the radio and/or call the cops.
