Default b18a1 question

Here is the deal. I am getting a b18a1 from a friend for like $200. one of the cylinders has low compression. If i get it, it will be in my 96 ex coupe. Is it worth it? I'm going to rebuild it when I get it, but I just want to know if it a good motor. In about a year i plan to boost it. Thanks in advance for the help!!

GREAT motor, and great platform for boost later on. there are many optios you can run with on it. LS turbo, LS/Vtec and even add turbo to that. (thats my current setup and i LOVE it) get it, build it and have fun. are you doing an OEM build or forged internals?

No, if you want to boost later, get a B18B1 if you on a budget. B is better than the A model.

its worth it dude go for it!! I have a b18a in my Ferio eg8 and must i say DAMN for a little 1.8L it pulls pretty damn hard. GREAT motor for boost as well. you will have a lot of fun and will not regret it. 200 dollars is a great deal, just take care of that compression leak lol. let me know how your swap goes bro! b18a civics FTW!
