Default Axle/Strut problem! HELP!

So, ive been hearing this rubbing noise at low speeds, and i figured out what it is. The car has coilovers and kyb struts. The arch at the bottom of the struts where the axle goes through is messed up or something. The axle is either rubbing the strut, or really damn close. Also, the axle has a little bit of up/down play in it. How hard is it to replace axles in DA integras? Would there be any other solution to the axle/strut clearance problem? Any help is appreciated!

Your problem sounds simple. It's probably about time to replace the axle, if not, there shouldn't be any play in it at all, hence why it's rubbing the strut. Make sure the axle is installed correctly, and replace it if need be.

The whole unit at the bottom moves together, including the axle. The wishbone on the strut is always close to the axle. But nonetheless, the axle shouldn't be touching the wishbone because the whole unit moves simultaneously up and down.

As for the free play on the axle, I think you're talking about the rod moving up and down from the bearing. If it's sliding back and forth from the hub, you need to tighten the axle nut. If it's just moving back and forth because of the bearing from the yolk area, you're fine.

Remember, if it's a click, then you gotta check the axle bolt to see if it's tighten all the way.

If it's your axle broken due to normal wear, then it's pretty simple to replace. Just jack up the car, remove the axle nut holding the axle to the hub. Separate the ball joint holding the LCA and the brake unit. Remove the wishbone that closes in the axle. Then pry at the axle where it's closest to the transmission.

yea there shouldnt be play at all...^^ thats what i had in mind just tighten the axel nut...if its not that make sure you have the right axel..like the driver side on the passenger or the other way around..i dont know on the DA if its a female and a male axel but on the DCs its two males ...i know someone who put them in on the wrong side and the driver side wouldnt go all the way in and it had play and it would clunk every time you went from 1st to 2nd....as far as the coilovers..make sure the fork at the bottom of the strut is on correctly...make sure the fork is not on reverse or put on on the wrong strut.
