Default Throw out bearing

Ok so my gf's rsx makes this clak clak noise coming from the transmission. Sounds like its coming from where the Clutch, Pressure plate and Flywheel are at. When you press on the clutch pedal, it goes away. When you release the clutch pedal it comes back.

Now I think its the throw out bearing. Any suggestions?
Also I know B-series transmissions have like a hollow tube that comes out from the top of the tranny that looks like you can touch the clutch if you were to stick a hanger through it.
If I'm not making sense let me know. Does the RSX have something like this so that I can add some grease to take the noise out temporary?

Last thing whats the average price on removing the tranny and putting it back.. just and average..

It's not the clutch release bearing (sometimes referred to as the "throw out bearing"). The release bearing does not touch the pressure plate or spin at all while the clutch pedal is out. When you push the pedal in, the hydraulic system moves the clutch release arm which pushes the release bearing into the pressure plate fingers and disengages the clutch. The release bearing doesn't start turning until it hits the pressure plate.

What you're describing sounds more like a problem with the transmission mainshaft bearing(s) or the hub of the friction disc.

Record a video and post it to help us diagnose further.

No idea what "tube" you're talking about, and do not try forcing grease into the clutch housing. The release bearing is sealed to keep its packed grease inside, and the only thing inside the clutch housing that should be lubed is the extension of the case that the bearing slides on and the contact points of the release arm. If you get any grease on the pressure plate, flywheel, or friction disc itself, then the clutch will slip.

Expect to be charged at least 7 labor hours. Price per labor hour will vary depending on where you go.
