CEL wont go out
1) Is your car running?
1a) Does it run acceptably or poorly?
2) Is your ecu chipped/socketed?
2a) If so, did you socket it?
3) OBD2 right? (or have you done an OBD conversion)?
3a) If so, what ecu are you running?
4) USDM or JDM (large case or small case?)?
5) How many 'miles' are on the ecu? (i.e. is it possible it is a service engine soon light?)
I know, some of these questions may not be necessary but I don't like making assumptions...
The car runs good (same as it did before the light came on). The car is stock and the light is the main't req'd light, which im pretty sure is the CEL. And it is OBD2. car has 152k miles

Sorry buddy, the main't req'd light is NOT the CEL. Completely different. To check this, when you first turn your key to the 'ON' mode, you'll enter 'bulb check mode' where all the dash lights come on. You'll see there that the CEL is indeed not the MRL.
To reset the MRL (ideally after an oil change at least), reach with your right hand under the dash near where the knee bolster cover mates with the center dash. Underneath there, there is a module with a push button. While the key is in the 'ON' position, hold the button for 5-10 seconds. The light will turn off. If you need to you can see it if you stick your head under there.

To reset the light after you are done changing your oil, and anything else you might want to change at this time, (spark plugs, etc..) under the driver side of the dash, there is a little button, I think the case is green, black, or some color, and you just hit the little black button. There are some pictures around here if you look, and it shows you how to do it...it then resets the system, and begins to recount the mileage you put on, then after another 7500mi, bam! it comes on agian. ANy one please feel free to correct me if I am seriously wrong....
