Default Rear Motor Mount

Anyone change out the rear motor mount before? Any tips and tricks to doing it with the least hassel? I changed out the Driver and Passenger mount but the rear mount seems a little harder to reach.

Thanks?

There is no tips or tricks, that mount is the hardest one to change.

Have fun.

Remove the TB (4x 12mm bolts) and use a 17mm socket with a super duper long extension to remove the mount. I would recommend removing the weird weight thing on the mount itself to make it easier to remove.

remember to support the engine.

Thanks for the suggestion! Took some time but with the help of a compressor came out pretty easy.

4th or 5th gen? I thought it was pretty easy in my 5gen. 20min to replace the rear mount.

Use one of those 3ft long 3/8" extensions to get the front and driver side mount bolts. For the front bolt, stick the extension between the throttle cable and the tbody/manifold. For the driver side bolt iirc the extension will go behind the intake mani. Passenger side and bracket bolts are super easy to get at once the intake tube is removed. Put some sticky tack in the socket when removing and intalling the front and driver side mount bolts because it's a pretty tight fit to get your arm in there.

^ That's good information, I also found it helpful to just remove the upper half of the intake manifold.. It's pretty easy to take off and clears up some good arm room.

the problem with this approach is getting the top half of the plenum to seal correctly afterwards. not a huge problem if you're N/A, but you can have some mammoth boost leaks if you're turbo. i couldnt get the top half of that plenum to seal for **** after i took it apart. i tried everything too: new gasket, RTV, hondabond, removing the butterfly plate, etc...
