I used dry ice to shrink the bushings (not necessary and didn't even seem to help), two planks of wood, rubber mallet, and a table press.

It's crazy stuff...
Getting the bushing back onto the control arm was an absolute nightmare on my e36.
not sure for a civic.

its not that bad, you'll see after you get the first one done.

To get them out, use a 7'8" or 1 1/8" hole saw to drill the rubber out first.
then use a sawzall to cut a notch in the metal core while being careful to not cut the actual control arm. Once a notch is cut in the metal ring(core) it will easily hammer out with a flathead screwdriver.

To press the new bushing in rent the lca removal tool(press) from autozone, I don't mean the picklefork. The key to pressing them in is to make sure they go in perfectly straight and the new ones will go in like butter. They are next to impossible to just hammer in, trust me I tried with oem bushings and wasted one.

I just did the whole front suspension on an eg civic, all 4 lca bushings plus the lower ball joints with new oem bushings. Its a job but can be done with basic tools and the rental from autozone to install the new stuff. If you search on here there is some good post with pictures.

I have a complete set of energy suspention bushings and I assume that I won't need the press tool but if I do I know where to get one now thanks for the info. Ill try the hole saw method. And let you know how it went
