Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
Ok....are the JDM sidemarkers suppose to be connected to the turn signal wire? or the parking signal? Can one hook it up to both somehow? So that it turns on with parking lights but also blink for the turn signals?

Connect one wire to the green, and one wire to the red.
That way they are constantly on, and they also blink when you are turning. Every side marker install ive done, Ive wired up this way.
Did this install on Monday I believe.

Re: Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
Constantly on and blinking is wired to the normally closed of the blinker/park light relay right?
So it blinks the opposite of the cars regular turn signal?
Or is it just my imagination

Re: Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
well that depends. When I bought mine they came with plugs and a little wiring. So just add more wiring and tap into the turn signal wires. Also how much did all yall pay? I got a killer deal. I bought both used fenders in black for 50 bux..LoL. This guy was out of his mind and didn't want them anymore. Were thron in his garage. I lowballed him bad. He was asking 150. And in the end I got them for 50. Only thing is they are scratched. But I'm painting my car anyway so I didn't care much.

Re: Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
I could be wrong, but i think the "correct" way to wire them is that they only work when you make a turn. Not on constant or constant+blink.
HOWEVER it is your car and i hope you set it up how U want it. gl

Re: Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
The "correct" way is to have them blink only when the blinkers blink and not be on at any other time. Many people like to do it this way for whatever reason, though.

yeah...I knew that. But I like it more on when parking lights are on. Just wasn't sure if I could do both constant and blink. Now I know, so I'm gonna do it constant and blink.

Re: Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
The previous gen Acura TL has factory side markers that are constantly on. Acura of USA designed them to run that way. I don't know about JDM TL's though. I wired mine to be on with my parking lights. I'm happy with my choice

Re: Correct way to wire JDM sidemarkers?
Background info:
Our corner lamps are dual filament bulbs which have 3 wires:
Red +12V parking lamp
Green +12V blinker
Black 0V ground
(colors may vary, check your manual or use a multimeter)
The sidemarker has a single filament, which has 2 wires:
Red +12V
Black 0v ground
How do you want it to be wired? There are 3 options...
Option 1:
-Sidemarker is illuminated (providing your parking lamps are on)
-Otherwise, sidemarker is off (it will not blink)
Option 2::
-Sidemarker and blinker blink in phase (at the same time)
-Otherwise, sidemarker is off
Option 3:
-Sidemarker and blinker blink out of phase (alternate illumination)
-Otherwise, sidemarker is illuminated (providing your parking lamps are on)
How do you wire them up?
Option1-
Connect Red to Red.
Connect Black to Black.
Option2-
Connect Green to Red.
Connect Black to Black.
Option3-
Connect Red to Red.
Connect Green to Black.
The reason/how option 3 works…
When the parking lights are on, +12V is on the positive side of the sidemarker and the blinker, being off, sends no voltage (0V) to the negative side. This +12V illuminates the bulb. Now, when the blinker is activated, +12V pulses are observed on the negative side. This means that there is +12V on BOTH sides of the bulb, which because of the lack of voltage difference, the bulb turns off. This is also why the blinker and sidemarker alternate illumination.
*note the stock harness wire colors are extended to the side marker wire colors to better illustrate where the wires originate.
