Absolutely not.

You HAVE to use LS sized rods unless you want to introduce your pistons to your cylinder head.

WHere do you people get your information from?

LS rods are SHORTER than GSR/ITR rods.

FWIW, I am actually doing this setup as we speak. LS rods are shorter.

Think about it. Two blocks with the same deck height. They use pistons with pretty much the same compression height. The one with the longer stroke absolutely positively has to use shorter rods.

You need to use LS rods also. I'm running an LS crank and LS (length) rods in my B18C5.

Bradstard, what is your displacement when you did that? I am using USDM 81.25 pistons.

People get lulled into thinking that just because the B18B's crank has a longer stroke that the rods have to be longer also.

Bradstard, I saw somewhere saying that you had a 2.0 liter? Is that with the LS crank?

After seeing this and reading what you said that really makes sense. Thanks.

85mm piston with an 89mm stroke? That makes 2.0?

in one of the old tuning books, the section where people write in to ask questions in the back, in one of the answers asked by a subscriber they gave all the b series rod lengths. and im pretty sure the ls rods were the longest. and they are the same as the d series non vtec rods. but im just a noob what do i know.

Well, I would have to say the tuning book is wrong.

I don't remember the exact displacement, but it's a tick over 2.0L. The B20 block is an 84x89.

This is how I am thinking.

B20 = LS crank
84mm = LS/GSR/ITR pistons
85mm = B20 pistons

If all above equations are true, wouldnt

84.5mm pistons = 1.9?

85*89 = 2020CC = 2.02L

Formula: Bore X Bore X Stroke X 0.0031416 = Displacement in CC

LS/GSR/ITR pistons are 81mm.
B20 pistons are 84mm.
