ok so like the title says, my car wont pass 3500rpm's
i had a b20b turbo for about a month and i didnt like it so i pulled it out and sold it. picked up a b18b from a buddy of mine that ran fine.
i put the swap in and now the car wont let me pass 3500 rpm's
it feels like it's on launch control but my reverse is plugged in and my ecu is a stock p72
im running a p72 TB
the dizzy WAS a p72 but i put an LS one on there
the car was running fine before and now it's acting dumb
im kinda broke so any other help would be usefull

Check the pin out for the distributor as the computer will go into a fail safe mode if it can't detect the sensors in the plug.

when you say reset the ecu, do you mean unplugging it from the harness and taking the negative off the battery for some time??

You're running a P72 ECU on a B18B? A P72 is for a GSR B18C1 engine. Try an LS ECU. The problem can be compatibility or you might have a bad P72 ECU.

I am not sure if a p72 ecu (b18c1) is compatible with a b18b1 non-vtec motor.I advise running the p75 ecu instead.

If you are running a P72 on an LS you will be getting a code for the Vtec pressure sw and it thinks the engine is low on oil so it wont let it rev past 3500. It is a safety method. Get the proper ecu and you will enjoy it!
