Default What cleaner do you like for cloth interiors

95 Accord Ex:

I own an Accord that looks as if the former owner had never cleaned the interior. So, I need to do that asap. I need to remove the seats, because there is so much dirt and leaves all packed into the small tight areas, so I see no point in just a general vacuuming - that will come later as I maintain the vehicle, if I decide to keep it. Quite sometime ago my cousin who has worked around lots of cars, recommended I use Simple Green with a soft scrub brush on cloth interiors. I tried it and it worked great but it was way too time consuming. So, I then tried Blue Coral Dri-Clean and that worked much quicker, but I had to do some stubborn spots twice. I assume on this Accord I am going to have some hard to remove grime, especially on the carpets. Last night when I went to adjust the parking brake cable, there was so much old, sticky, dried up soft drinks, etc., that I decided to just remove the console and clean it all up first. Took awhile but was worth it.

I was thinking of using a home carpet stain remover/cleaner, like resolve, for the floor mats. The mats are the worst, followed by the carpet, then the seats, and lastly the door panels and console. But I can live with the floor mats being not as clean as the carpet. Oh, the vinyl and the plastic on the dash and inner door panels, oddly are clean for some reason, and just need a general surface cleaning

Anyway, that's the job I have and would like to know what you guys recommend, especially for the cloth seats.

It's going to take a lot of time regardless if you want good results.

The Simple Green solution is pretty good, if you do a search for yellow recaro and woolite in the ITR section it'll pop up an AMAZING cleaning thread for seats. Armor All Cleaning wipes work great on vinyl and plastic too.

From this

to this

Took me between 4-5 hours, and that was a CARPET ONLY job. I didn't do any panels. Sometimes to get it done right takes some time.

i do detailing and i see that all the time..it just takes time ..degreaser and elbow grease with a vacuum..then afterward you should get the color code of the interior and go buy a can of interior spray and get the spots that u couldnt get out ..
