so one of my friends radio turns off whenever you would turn the radio too loud. what could be causing this. everything looked like it was wired right. could there be a short somewhere.

 

sounds like its getting a power surge of some type.. check and see if the wires are all hooked up right and also check and see if the altinator is charging right.. it could b a sign of the altinator going out soon and not giving the battery a full charge.. does the car have any amps or subs hooked up?

 

yeah it does. i dont think it is the alternator because he drives it around a lot and it hasn't died yet. but i'll just check if it is the alternator just to be sure.

 

I am guessing a loose wire.

nah this is a bad *** deck. it use to not do that. something probably is loose
