Acura CL 5-Speed Rare?
I just got a 97 CL 2.2 bout a month ago and ive been reading up on them and i read some where that the first gen CL's are rare to find with a 5-speed tranny. Can anyone verify this or give me more info?
^^ X2.
I mean they are going to make it in a stick version for the people that either like to shift and all or want to get better gas mileage.
But muffinman is right, the coupe cd's are rare haha.......well uncommon haha. CD7 FTW!!!
or CD8 if you want to be a super uber cool jdm kid

I don't think it's that rare. The 1st gen CL is an uncommon car, but there were a lot with a manual transmission. My '97 has a 5 speed and I looked at several others with a manual before buying this one. I think the 98-99's are harder to find in manual. Also, the '97 was the worst year for the CL IMO.
yeah I would say they are getting rare, cars are approaching 8 years old and there were not that many produced in the first place as only the CLS came with a manual, it was not an option on the non type S 2003 was the only year yoiu could get a manual and even then only 3,511 were produced.
total 2001-03 production run was roughly 31,000 cars
if you are talking about the previous gen CL then the only one with the manual was the I4I can't find production numbers on it but it stands to reason that those cars are getting rare due to age and yearly attrition rates due to accidents

It depends on the person and where they live. If there's like 10-20 of them around their area then they wouldn't say rare. But in my case, it is since I barely see any 5spd Acura CL.
