Help leak in ef pass floorboard
Really cant figure out where all this water is coming from i dont even have to be moving and when it rains the passenger side floorboard fills with water im losing my mind cuz the ecu is right there and im getting nervous help honda tech
is it leaking around the windshield mine started leaking under the windshield and i had to cut the windshield out and sand it down real nice and get rust out of there and put windshield back in after painting it now it doesn't leak any more
Unfortunately, it could be coming in from a lot of different places.
The official answer is to remove the passenger seat, ecu, disconnect battery, glovebox, and peel back the carpet. Then with you in the car, have a friend pour water on specific parts of the car with a hose and try to narrow down where the leak is entering. It is tricky because the water could be entering in one spot and then trickling down and appearing far away from the actual leak.
Possibilities include: the roof seal, windshield, the "cowl area" where the wipers are, the firewall seals, the A/C evaporator, and cracks in seam sealer near the hood hinges. If you have an idea where it is entering you can go into detail in that spot and seal it up. good luck!
Professionals use chalk dust and dust the inside of the car where they suspect the leak is. Then they wet the car and it makes it easier to see where it has been leaking because the chalk is disturbed.
