Default How To: 99 Si 26mm Sway Bar with EX LCA!!

I've been messing with sway bars back and forth and finally came up with a solution to using a FRONT 99 si 26mm sway bar on EX LCAs.

Parts List:
26mm front sway bar from a 99-00 Si..
92-96 Prelude VTEC front Endlinks

Tools:
1/2 drillbit
Drill
something to hold the sway bar nice and tight when you drill.

Now the thing is you need to drill the holes for the endlinks on the front si sway bar to 1/2 size drillbit and then you are good to go, just stick in the prelude endlinks and thats it! Before I've tried the front GSR endlinks and they were too short so the sway bar would rubb against the front LCA and now with the prelude endlinks, the clearance is pretty good! Just be sure to get some nice bushings for the endlinks!

HERE ARE THE PICTURES OF the CLEARANCE with PRELUDE front ENDLINKS. (perfect clearance right? ...yes of course. woot woot and this picture, the car was NOT on jacks)

*STICKY THIS IF YOU MUST* lol...

Good info, so are the gsr end links the same as type r? because if they are not it seems like that would work as well. si sway/ex lca/ type r links?

Yes, Type-R and GSR use the same endlinks. As I said above, the Si sway bar will rub your LCA with the GSR/ITR endlinks. This is why I used the Prelude endlinks which prevents it from rubbing.

The 26mm front bar to me is so much better than the 22mm bar. If you have a CTR/ITR rear bar, the 26mm front bar would be perfect.

so do you think this would work vice versa... to put an EX sway bar on an EK with SI LCA's? I want to decrease the diameter of my front sway bar..

wouldnt work because the sway bar ends are different... vertical for SI, and horizontal for EX and that's only the sway bar, the SI lca's have abracket welded to them, thus being only compatible with the SI sway bar

Airbag, I believe that might work, but I wouldnt say It will because I havent tried that. Why go such small size? trust me, i had the 22mm front bar, I hate how soft it is....but then its up to you. lol..

To everyone else, glad I've saved your day.

yes it will, but I didn't like it even with the 23mm rear bar, too much push.
IMO, the 24mm front bar is a nice compromise.

honisoto - you can do the same with a heim joint, a bolt, and the lower half of the EG/EK link.
But I like keeping with the OEM parts.

Nissan 240 endlinks work, too. They are just a bit longer than the Prelude ones.
