Default how do u know if shocks are blown and no good

how do u know if shocks and struts r blown. I heard they're good if you press the shock down and it comes back up at u. But now I heard from others that the spring is what makes it come back up and its good it u press it down and it has pressure and resistance. How do I tell for sure?

The easiest way to tell (assuming they are blown) without taking them off the car is to see if there is any oil on the body. The best way to check would be to remove them and perform a few basic tests. If you dont know what to look for or how to test... go by the book and replace on a schedule.
Note: Lowered cars that dont use a shortened body/ stroke shock may see wear much sooner then the factory's suggested standard.

Shocks should be replaced on a regular basis just like any other ware item. Just because you cant feel a difference in the way the car drives, does not mean that they are not bad, wear is progressive and gets worse over time. You grow numb to the missing performance until it's replaced with something that operates correctly.

there should be oil around where it was,if it's still on the car the blown corner will bounce,or like you said it will compress and not release.

If you are in a position to buy and you interested in Skunk2's Sport Shocks, right now would be the best time to buy.

The sale is going on through a few dealers, let me know where you are located and I'll give you a number.

We recommend that you replace all struts/ shocks at the same time. It is a bad idea to mix-n-match something like shocks. For that reason... we only sell them in complete sets of four.

Unfortunately for our partners in the North East, they did not join us on this sale, so I'll have to give you a referral to a dealer in the South. Lightning Motorsports is a sponsor here and has taken advantage of the sale prices offered and would love to help you out. Please contact the Tom @ 225-752-2738
