Fenders shouldn't be much of a problem but the bumper cover may be more problematic.

The bumper Cover has been (as far as I can remember) always flexible, to withstand the day to day impacts. Neither a Carbon Fibre or Fiberglass aftermarket bumper cover are flexible. You would be subject to some serious (and agrivating) damage from some truly insignificant hits.

i dont understand why a carbon fiber bumper would be of interest to you. i mean how much lighter could it be than a stock plastic bumper?? i'm sorry if that is a stupid statement by the way.

I don't think the bumper cover itself is the heavy part; its more like the bumper support since its metal and heavy.

In that case I'd suggest aluminum, but no one is supplying aftermarket bumper bars in anything other than steel (it's that 5mph bumper thingie that's tripping you up).

I guess it's just me, but I don't think that looks good at all. There's no "flow" of color or style between the carbon fiber parts and the rest of the car. To me, it only looks like a bunch of random parts thrown together. But if that's what you like, go for it. Maybe I'm just too old fashioned.
