VAFC Install Questions...Please Help
Please keep in mind that I'm no electrician. So here goes.
1.) I spliced one of the wires and some of the wire strands got cut off as well. Will this cause any problems and should I re-splice. I'm thinking some of the unexplained problems people report on this board with the VAFC could have been caused by accidentally splicing off wire strands.
2.) What tool do you use to splice wires? I'm just using long-nose pliers.
3.) According to the manual, there are 3 wires from the stock ECU harness that I have to completely cut and 4 wires(ie IG Power, Ground, etc.) that I just "tap" into. For those 4 wires, since I can't use the method of cutting the plastic and sliding it off, how would I expose those wires?
4.) Will this Soldering Gun suit my soldering needs?
5.) Is the soldering process simply, connect the two ends of the wires together and go at it with the soldering gun? How does soldering work anyway? Is it just "melting" both of the wires together?
6.) Can I use one of the VAFC buttons for NOS activation? =P

You will need to buy a spool of solder to help fuse the wires together.
Practice on scrap wires to hone your skillz.
