Booming dound - tyre noise ?
I have another problem, ok i've had the gearbox fixed all running ok, i've put a new (2nd hand) diff in. I get a booming/droning sound from the rear. I've had the car running on a ramp in 1st gear.
The g/b and diff run silent, the wheel bearing have been check and ok, is it possible that the boomingnoise from 30-70mph could be tyres ? the tyres on at the moment are 245's not the recommended Bridgestone 225/50's. I don't want to change the tyres over and get the same sound but has anyone ever had a noise with different tyres ?
Could the rear geometry be out ?
Thanks.

I'm thinking tyres, I've already swapped out diff and had it running on a ramp and it was quiet. I think it's tyres/rear geo a mate has got 17" wheels on his S2k so I might swap them over to see if it's that... Then buy new boots if it makes a difference.
Thx
