Default engine misfiring

on hot days lately, my engine will idle really low around 400ish rpm's? and when i step on the gas, it misses just until around 1k then it's fine. BTW its stock except for a modded airbox (w/ filter) plus new plugs and wires. my guess is either the cap and rotor, or the O2 sensor. help me out please.

hmm... sounds like you should be throwing a code, it could be an o2 sensor, but it could also be anything fuel related, but the past 1k rpm and its fine thing makes me think o2. I could be COMPLETELY wrong, but thats my .02 Keep your eye peeled for a code, 6gen should be a 45 and 5th gen should be a 44 (i think, dont got a 5... it should be something like engine running too lean or too rich...)

Does it miss really bad? whats exhaust smell like?

try getting some fuel injection cleaner. I could be that the injectors are clogged and not enough fuel is getting in with causes a low idle.

sry forgot that i changed my sig.... its a 93 ex (pic in avatar)
the misfiring is not really bad, but it was worse b4 i changed the plugs and wires, they went cuz i had a leaky plug tube seal, so oil got on them. after i fixed all that it got better, but this only happens when its like in the 90's outside. and i'm pretty sure i'm running a little rich, and it burns oil at like 5k +

welcome to the world of fuel injection
on a warm day the air goes in and mixes with fuel but the air is so hot, it affects the idle.
i have the same problem
mine idles around 400 when its hot also.

its a honda thing
sometimes after a drive where the car is significantly warmed up, on a hot day.
if you shut it off then try to start it again it struggles to start.

thanks
