Icon5 H22 swap into my accord ISSUES

I was told I need a knock sensor for my H22 it cuts out if I get the rpm's too high and then the check engine light comes on and the car runs like crap. if anybody has a knock sensor for sale that would be great. Honda wants $180 for one

Find out what the code is first! If you do have a knock sensor code, Find out if the harness is wired correctly. If that all checks out, Get a knock sensor from Honda for an 03 Odyssey. they are a fraction of the price, and they do the same thing!

well there is no knock sensor in my car at all right now and I took it to a performance shop and they said that they would fix it for about 700 and I thought that was a little crazy

What harness do you have? The knock sensor is just 1 wire from the ECU to the sensor itself. 700 bucks does sound crazy!

$700.00 is insane in the membrane.

Just ask around the forum for one; see if anyone will reply to your WTB thread. A b16, b18c1 knock sensor will due.

700??? thats gay.... Knock sensors usually need to be replaced before a swap, they are pretty fragile and break easily... I would look on ebay or WTB threads for a cheap used ones...

yeah I thought that was nuts too. I didn't do the swap I just bought the car a couple days ago the motor only has 3000 miles on a rebuild. I'm pretty excited to get it finished I just don't want to pay a rediculous amount for a sensor. I have had ppl tell me that I don't need it at all and others tell me that I have to get it. If I keep it below about 3500 rpms it runs fine but as soon as I get the motor turning fast the check engine light comes on and then it runs like crap and if I stomp on it, it seems to die. sure would like to see how it runs when its all fixed, so far my 1985 325e is way faster than my 94 accord with a H22 swap lol go figure
