ABS Removal
what up ma dudes, ok here it goes, i want to remove my ABS system cus the one dude that did the ENGINE SWAP on the prelude i bought aperently didnt know what he was doing and left wire problems all around the car, so i want to know if anyone has taken their ABS off and have cleaned they're engine bay, please let me kno how i can do this and fix my problems...thanx again
I too have been wanting to do this.
From what I've read up so far. It's literally a case of ripping out the ABS related items - pump, lines, ECU, etc. Then either getting a non ABS ludes proportioning valve and hard front lines that go from the wings to the valve. Should be simple with these to hand. Without a non ABS donor you'll be looking at an off the shelf proportioning valve - maybe even an adjustable one if you want to experiment for track days. Then use either braided lines with some good mounts to route it ok or by a pipe bending and flaring tool and make up some hard lines yourself.
All in all it's not a mega hard job in theory but it's just getting to the areas to remove bits and add the new. If the engine is out it will be 10 times easier (which mine is not!).
