96 accord steering/break problem
Lately, something wierd has been happening with my steering. Whenever i hit the break moderately hard, my steering wheel and car goes to the right. I have a few ideas what could be wrong like master cylinder, rotors, calipers or allignment.. I got an allignment about a month ago along with a wheel balancing and i just changed my calipers and the problem still occurs. Any suggestions or ideas on the problem?? thanks

the only thing i can think of at the moment, is a possible "clogged" brake line...maybe one caliper is getting more pressure than the other causing a pull while you brake...
how often or when was the last time you had your brake system/ fluid flushed...
if you havent, "i hope you did, when you replaced those calipers"...
you might want to take it to a shop that performs a "pressure brake flush" w/ a machine or a pressurized tank (a special honda tool) instead of manually bleeding the brakes so that they can get all the crap out of the master cylinder and lines...
ya i changed the calipers but they are kind of shitty because i got them from autozone.. and after a few good rain storms.. they were just covered with rust. So it seems like the calipers i bought were crappier than the ones i originally had..
yeahh i flushed my system a few times and made sure to get all the air out and stuff
would changing the brake lines do any good?

Does it pull hard in one direction; or is it more like it just wants to go that direction?
Have you had the tie rod ends checked for slop?

yaa sorry for the spelling.. i was in a hurry to put this up..
the rear brakes are drums
well.. its basically both, when i start to break, the wheel goes right and the cars goes right as well. Sometimes it's not too noticeable and does it only a little but other times, the wheel just flies to the right..
I think i've concluded that the right side caliper brakes before the left one so it goes to the right.. I'm just not sure what to do now

I would check that the LEFT caliper is not sticking on it's sliders (it would cause the caliper to not apply as hard as the cousin to the right, thus the pull)
and
I would check that you haven't developed a brake fluid leak in one of the rear brakes. (It would cause on of the rear brakes to 'grab' when applied and would cause a pull condition)

thanks for all the help. i really appreciate it.
I actually got a brake check up by some people and they said that there was something wrong with my passenger side break hose. I guess the fluid stays in the caliper so its always kind of braking and once the rotor gets hot from all the friction, it causes the car to vibrate (which always happens after a 45 min drive) and the car to pull to the right. They also suggested to get new rotors..
WELL... so far ive only changed the 2 brake hoses and i will see how the drive is tomorrow and if its still pulling and all, ill change the rotors

There might be something with the brake line that's clogged up, but that would cause a brake drag though.
What I'm thinking though, is that when you brake and it pulls to the right, then that means the left caliper must've been bad? since its not grabbing like the right caliper should. Unless you did replace the left caliper too.
