is this gun a good gun to use?
soo i have a devilbiss jga-510 spray gun with 1.8 tip with a 20 gal. craftsman compressor tank. my question is- is the gun a good gun to be using for spraying paint?
Without having any experience with the gun, the tip seems a little large for paint or clear. Usually you would want something near a 1.4mm. 1.8 would work well for primer.
i use the gun at work fabric/leather/plastic glue applications....so im used to adjusting to the applications..i just wanted to no if the gun is capable of spraying paint really good.
Ya the 1.8 will be a hoser! Definitely don't use it. Your base and clear wouldn't get atomized properly. Your clear would be peely and you would most likely run it to the floor lol.
it's definitely good for primer, but you can spray paint as well. Just have to adjust the gun properly and maybe even spray on a test panel first to see how it comes out....I know a guy who sometimes sprays with a 2.0 tip
Maybe a solid base but definitely don't try a metalic. And as I said that thing will be a hoser. Somebody who has never painted before will run the clear to the ground. Plus it will be peely
