you CAN use stock struts, but they WILL blow faster.

My buddy just cut his oem springs and it looks pretty nice and a pretty smooth ride for cut springs. Thats your best way out if money is tight.

Tight budget, make sure it's a decent brand, and not those Ebay coilovers...
I had an Ebay set, they are worthless, and blow my shock in 1 week. Gone thru 2 set oh shocks before I got the GC one, they ride pretty smooth, and so far I haven't blown a shock yet.
So don't lower it until you save enough for a decent coilover set. It'll save you more money in the long run.

If you are going to lower your car do it right. DO NOT CUT THE SPRINGS!!! NO EBAY STUFF. I would recommend GC+AGX because I had them before and the ride was awesome not too stiff(the shock were adjustable). Also, you might want to change your OEM shocks and springs at the same time so you don't have to do worl all over again. If budget is a big issue, just wait until you can afford to buy GC+AGX. Hope this helps.

I brought my GC used for 80 bucks, it came with GR2 shocks, I sold the shocks for 40. So there are good deals out there....

well if you plan on goin sleeves, just be aware like everyone else said if you use the stock shocks, you WILL blow those faster. a good combo would be some yellows with GCs, but lately im leaning over to just gettin lowerin springs cuz the ride is kinda awkward on coilovers, plus i've worked on enough of my friends cars that has em and they complain of the bounciness but that really depends where you get them from.

id say just get some skunk2's lowerin springs and call it a day. they got a nice drop and they can be used with stock shocks.my friend has them on his teg and it tucks neat, not too much but just enough.plus they're affordable

oh yeah,DONT CUT YOUR SPRINGS

I have Ground Control coils and KYB AGX struts, but the cutting springs was just a suggestion. not making him cut them. But the truth is thats the CHEAPEST way out, not the best but cheapest

On my 2nd civic, I had Skunk 2 springs and Koni Struts with the perch on the lowest clip. It rode like silk, handled like a grounded hellion and it was slammed. In all honesty though if you are going to by new springs and struts or coilover sleeves and new struts just buy the Skunk 2 Pro S. It's the same money or cheaper and you get a coilover with a matched strut. I'm going with the Pro Cs on the civic I have now, but for a really good cost effective set-up I would suggest the Pro-S for you.
