Default GSR into DA wiring and tranny help needed??

yeah i bought a gsr swap 96 and was told it was converted OBD-0 to OBD-1. the car it came out of of like mine is a 1991 Acura Integra. So did they just modify a OBD-1 GSR harness and throw it on there?? how can i tell??

Also i started plugging the harness inside the engine bay and only two main
connectors are connected one on each side. Is the harness supposed to just plug in already??

how should i hook the harness up, before the engine swap, after swap, on motor then swap, on car then put in motor???

Also how do you connect the cable to hydro converision to the shift linkage??

*************various pics with descriptions below****************

motor mounts

cable to hydro conversion.

***the only thing i have is bolts maybe and the shift linkage under the car, how do i connect the two levers????****

how do i mount the alternator??

not too sure what this harness is?? distributor maybe?? it says streetlightz.com on it.

***can you identify above***

what obd is this??

the ten remaining wires off the ecu conversion.

****where do you wire them too???****

the ten remaining wires from the chassis harness

***where are they wired too, the ten are not all the same color as the other set of ten wires i have above***

passenger side engine harness

*** the main round one is plugged in, where do the other two go???****

is this for the 9v OBD-0 fuel injectors?? what has to be rewired under the hood for the OBD1 conversion and injectors???

driver side engine harness

*** the main round one is plugged in, same as above what about the other two??***

a pic of the DA its goin into.

you have a shitload of questions and i am not understanding some of them. the alternator mounts to the back of the reanny. what you have pictured is the front.

you have an obd0 car. that bundle of wires that says streetlights? is the the conversion harness. those clipped wires on the engine harness side should be going to the plugs. they should not be hanging like that. that in itself will be a pain in the *** problem to figure out unless you look at it and think about it logically. it looks as if you already have a conversion harness in, though.

the clutch cable will hook into the conversion the same way that a regular cluch cable does. look at it. you'll figure it out. you know that you are missing the clutch cable, right?

are you sure that your car wasn't converted to obd1 already? the resistor is gone already and the wires look as if they have been correctly routed for obd1 already. all that seems to be missing there is the injector bus cap (a special cap that interconnects all of the injector wires to each other in obd1 harnesses).

Good luck with all of that... i think that you should do a lot more reading before trying to do it. i am not trying to be a dick or anything. just being realistic.

no thanks i appreciate it. thats exactly what im tryna do is figure it out. i bought everything seperately lol so now im tryna put it all together. sorry for the assload of questions lol.

i didnt know alternator mounted on back

i think i have two conversion harnesses lol not sure how that happened.

no i didnt know i didnt have the clutch cable so thanks.

it was wired vtec already so it may be OBD1 then. ill continue to read. i search but its hard to know what to search for sometimes if you dont know what your missing lol and
g2ic.com covers the swap as if it was staying OBD-0.

wait, are you using a obd1 engine harness, if you are ditch it and use the stock harness for the car, the vtec will run off the jumper harness you will use to convert obd0 to obd1

lol, don't be sorry for the questions... it;s just that there are so many and it is really easy to miss answering something important.

well, you have to go obd1 (looks like the car is already) since the gsr engine needs that extra crap for the intake manifold and you probably don't have a pr3 obd0 ecu. that and if you ever bar it (if you are in cali), it will have to be obd1. if i were you, i would try to find instructions for either of the conversion harnesses you already have so that you can connect vtec, the secondary butterflies on the manifold, and the 4 wire o2 sensor. you also have to remember that the exhaust manifold on obd0 and obd1 cars are different. o2 locations on them are different too. you will need an obd1 exhaust manifold and have the exhaust pipe adjusted to fit. sooo many things! i wish i was there to show you.

yeah, don't listen to that advice

you know what, the harness that is in the car already has a vtec subharness on it (that smaller harness with the red and yellow wires on it! try to find out what brand that is and get the instructions... could it be a boomslang harness? anyone know?

go to rywire.com and look up the instructions. i think there are pinouts on there too. wiring shoud be a breeze once you get those. you may run into an engine mount issue (on the driver side) but i am not sure. it all depends on the part that bolts onto the block. i guess you'll see if it is a problem once you try to put it in. g2ic is a pretty good resource for this stuff. the hybrid section is what you'd want to look at on there. i live on g2ic, lol.

so do you think the ten wires from the rywire harness need to be connected to the ten wires cut on the engine harness??

if so, you need to know where each of the cut wires on the cars harness go.

i personally don't think they should... then again, i don't know why they would be run through the main harness. usually they run from the ecu with a small subharness that runs straight into the engine bay on the passenger side. is there another small harness running from the main harness that is branching into the engine bay with clips for vtec and the o2 sensor? those 10 wires may even be for an alarm...

if i were you, i would just run that rywire subharness into the engine bay and connect the wires to where they are supposed to go. i don't think that you'll be in a position to figure out what those are till after you get to trying to start the car.

look at this thread as you will probably be asking this question once you start connecting stuff.

thanks bro youve been really helpful. ya i think it may be for an alarm because theres a light and switch underneath on the drivers side. There are no other harnesses under hood. im going to look for that injector bus cap. i ordered a clutch cable also.

cool, good luck! if for some reason you can't find that bus/terminator cap, you can connect all of the wires together by depinning the socket and taping them all together. a simple fix while you find that connector. make sure that you do have obd1 injectors if you do that!!!
