Need ideas on what to do next to my car.
Been driving my 99 EX coupe since Dec. 98, and am happy with the car but feel it's missing something. I haven't done any thing to my Civic since last year except for selling the 18's. So far I have done the following:
RSA intake
Greddy header
Apex WS exhaust
Ground Controls
Koni struts
Neuspeed sway bars
Powerslot rotors
Goodridge SS brake lines (waiting to install)
Skunk2 short shift
Prothant shifter bushing
For now I want to stay with the D16 engine till I hit at least 60,000miles (I'm at 34K). So I wondered is there any thing else I could start on the car besides the swap? I'm not really into body kits or wings, but I do like carbon goodies.
Some of the items I was thinking about were light weight wheels, stickey tires, and possibly CTR mirrors? Any ideas or comments are helpful.
Here's my car, minus the wheels.

-cf hood
-type r headlights
-and a turbo kit would be nice until you reach the 60k mark... then when youre ready for the swap, sell it...
-as for the wheels, go for some advan rg's in gold or some ssr comps would look nice... thats just me...

Get a Zex cam-250, and that would pep it up, throw on a GSR throttle body, and that will help...What kinda rims you on now? Go down to sears and get some Falken Azenis- they run like 47 bucks per tire in 195-60R-14, and they're DOPE!!
screw all that carbon fibre ****, make it go fast.
TURBO. I dont understand why people want to swap out perfectly good engines. why? a $3500 gsr swap????? put a $3500 turbo kit and go faster(turbo kits can be put together for cheaper than $3500).
But hey thats just me. Good Luck with your car.

agreein with the guy above me... but can a turbo "stress out" your engine a bit
a turbo can be daily driven just like anything else if tuned properly. Simple as that.

Thanks the help everyone.
I am running the old black steelies so rims and tires are first on my list. I'm looking towards a set of 15x7 (Rota, Kosei, Flik?) with the Falken Azenis.
The turbo option is a good idea. I have been waiting for Greddy to release the turbo kit for the 99-00 EX's but would rather go with the Apex kit, I think it has a bb turbo? Haven't heard any thing about the ZEX cams, are they pretty good for a daily driver?
Thanks
Rob

Get some 16" gold Volk Gram lights.
Btw, what do u think of the greddy header? I plan on gettin it for my 99 ex. Can u describe the power increase?, noticeable increase?

I got the Greddy header in 99 and haven't had any problems with it. The only thing is the stainless steel version starts to turn blue, I kinda like the color change but some people don't. As far as the power, I didn't notice any thing different. I heard most headers loose power, the only one I know makes good power is the Powercore, but I might be mistaken. Personally I would spend money some place else like CAI or suspension.
Thanks all for the ideas, I'm looking for some wheels now and next I'll research head work or doing a cam replacement.

No need for stickier tires without power to spin them.
I recommend an FMAX turbo. Dont waste your money on a swap. Go turbo. With that car and 12 psi you'll run 12s on slicks.

just remember its YOUR car, so do what YOU like!

I was thinking of the powercore, but landpseed raised the price on it to 400, while ive seen the greddy for 350.

The zex cam is very driveable. The 53900 is suppose to be pretty good with both stock motors as well turbo'd engines. Plus it isnt very expensive

just save the money for a swap. get a b series motor and then turbo it.
.......but if u have money to burn..turbo+100 shot...may as well upgrade ur clutch now too
