help with spark plug
i drove my car yesterday after a month and when i barely pulled out of my street. my car made a noise like a grinding and then shut off. this morning i pulled the spark plugs out and only one was blown!! any help to why this happened would be great.
its not bosch there NGK. and nothing foreign was in there. its an all motor set up and was only tuned for an hour and wasnt fully tuned.... i think i have to pull the head off
That definitely looks like mechanical damage to me. Just 1 spark plug you say? I would agree, pulling the head may be a good move. I would have immediately jumped on foreign material (as THC07 stated).

Is it possible that 1 plug had a different heat rating versus the others?
Heat rating will not do that to this extent. period!
man thats odd. Im still sticking to something snmacking that plug.
Ive melted plugs with N20 many times, and they dont even get that bad before they quit working.

I don't think it really matters but, which cylinder was it?
im positive. it was in cylinder 4 the one closest the the gears! im going to pull the head off tomorrow and make sure the cylinder didnt hit the spark plug. im going to inspect the piston and clean out all the debris. while my head is off im going to fix that spark plug hole because the thread is trash. gonna port and polish the head, valve job, put my high compression valves in there and my s2p3's while its out and sell my s2p2's
from the looks of this i would say those valves couldnt handle the pressure. i should have installed my high comp valves when i had the chance. oh well live and learn the stupid way. thanks though
dyno ****ed up my motor. they forgot to tighten down cam gear to spec and it advanced in timing till it couldnt anymore and boom my motor blew
