Default Airbag Deployment w/ Seat Covers

asking if seat covers will interfere with the side airbag off of the seats?

does anyone know if there would be problems with deployment?

anything that covers the airbag has the potential to slow its deployment. how much? well thats for you to hopefully never figure out

im pretty sure that your airbags will have no problem blowing through your seat covers, but dont go by my word. your seat covers may interfere a little but not by much IMO.

You could have someone that knows how to sew cut a hole around the airbag itself and sew a border on so it isn't ragged. I'd be nervous about just putting the cover over the airbag, myself.

great idea, this was relating my friends question. his seat covers are very thin just to keep the fabric on the seat from discoloring but all your responses make sense. thanks for the input!

Any dealership, and I think even the manual says NOT to install solid seat covers over your seats. They need to be open on the sides.

x2. i would definitely NOT get seat covers that aren't designed for side airbags. i'd hate to change the path the airbag takes when it inflates and have it hit a part of your body that it's not supposed to.

I wouldnt even see how its gonna deploy if theres something covering it. It might just deploy and be forced out but not fully deploy.

Maybe cutting a hole around the airbag deployment? then sew?
