i have a 1999 honda civic ex it drives good and everything theres only two things wrong with it tht are really really buggin me and im kinda confused on what to do
1st. everytime i shift its like it shifts hard real hard and when i accelerate the shift stick moves like if i press the gas the shift stick will move up by it self without me touching it. an its very well visible some times ill have my hand on it and also when i accelerate it moves up.

2nd. everytime i turn the wheel my rpms go up to about 2000 rpm when the car is not moving i need a new 02 sensor could that b the problem?

my shifter used to do that two ppl said get bushings i replaced my tranny cuz of (3rd gear grind) and it fixed the problem

well if you have power stearing then it could be your pump and your motor is working overtime to turn the wheel

but im not Tech. just my 2 cents

 

Check trans. mounts.

Mine does the same its just the power steering pump working that makes the idle increase.

Have you done a tune up on the car? Might want to go through and check all mounts, bushings, plugs, wires, change all fluids, pads, rotors, distributor, fuel filter, air filter, belts, hoses etc. most of it can be done pretty cheap.

 

yeh i looked and one of the mounts is cracked on my tranny. i had a mechanic look a it. so i need a new one. i got the car with a salvage stolen title the guy sold it to me and didnt even tell me it drives fine juss the tranny i ouno it makes me wanna sell it.

 

Also check the rear motor mount, which is near the center, bottom of the firewall.

Are you having any power steering problems?
