recently outta nowhere my cluster lights, fog lights and climate control just stop working.
THE CAR= 1998 RHD JDM TYPE R
i checked and replaced all the fuses and check everything underneath and all looks good to me. on my fuse diagrame the fog lights, cluster are 2 different fuses also both are in great shape. i went overeach fuse at least 5 times .. also all the fuses under the hood ?! they all are in perfect shape.
-is it a relay?
-short?
-is usual they all are out the same time?
my tailights , headlights blinker all work .. my radio and cig light work still as well.
no amber in the climate control dont light up and no amber in the cluster, the RPM-gas-speedo-rpm all work just not lighting up. and foglight switch and the foglights in the headlights dont light up
any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I actually experienced the same symptoms in mine when the cluster dimmer switch went bad.

Faulty headlight switch? On my Civic something burned or shorted out inside the headlight switch so that sometimes the headlights turned on but not the cluster/dash lights unless I repeatedly switched the headlights on/off or fiddled with the headlight switch. It got to the point where high beams wouldn't click on/off and the cluster/dash lights wouldn't turn on with the headlights.
Replacing the headlight switch with another one worked.

This is a good start, replace it with one that you know works... Secondly, check the headlight ground, its in the engine bay next to the rad support attached to the side of the car... On the usdm cars its next to the abs pump...
If you have oem fogs, then they are plugged in to your accesory socket in your fusebox. This happened to me and it was a fuse. Fogs didn't work, cluster and climate control lights didn't work.
This was in my 96 Ek

now , as soon as i turn the running lights/headlights on the cluster light 7.5 amp fuse blows everytime. as soon as i turn the headlight switch on the columb forward the fuse blows. i even tried running a 10,15 amp to see if it wouldnt blow but it keeps on doing it.
what works:
-headlights, lowbeams/highbeams
-tailights
-interior light, radio, cig lighter
-brakelights, turn signals, sidemarkers
-the cluster RPM,blinker light in the cluster, speedo, gas all that functions just no backround light at all.
whatdoesnt work:
-climate control lights, the amber
-the foglights
-the foglights switch with the amber in the buttom
-cluster backround lights dont work

check the harness goin into the cluster comin from the side of the dash.... my car did that over the summer... a power wire ended up touchin a metal bars that holds up the dash and it went up in flames... and first signs of it was blockin fuse everytime i turn my headlights on.... i had to replace the whole harness from under dash fuse box to cluster and this time i taped it up real good and tied down the harness so it wont move around and rubb on that bar again... trackin owns
