best street pads?
i have a 92 civic hatch front/rear disc brakes. Im going to change my rotors to slotted and drilled. im just looking for good street brake pads that bite GOOD..that dont mess up rotors or squeek and low or medium dust but dont really mind bout dust..
i have a gsr with drilled and slotted and i just run oem, they seem to work fine for me, plus i don't get noise the wear is worse than an aftermarket pad but they are also softer pads to reduce noise and i don't screw up the rotors. i may try some raybesto ceramis pads heard they were really good but idk
This is my opinion but you guys dont really need slotted or drilled rotors. Some brembo or any other brand of your liking blank rotors will do great and save you some bucks.
Then with pads, OEM is always good for daily driving. HAWK pads are also good, I used to use the PBR ultimates, great pad, stops on a dime, lots of bite, but had good amount of dust over my wheels.
With aftermarket pads, you are proned to get squeaking if you dont bed-in the pads right or just get one that does for some odd reason.
Do some research here or go to tirerack.com or other sites and read up on them.
GL on the decision.

I have yet to find a set of pads that will outbrake Porterfields.

When cold, the pads aren't that great, but once warmed up, you'll stop on half a dime.

I've used Axxis Ultimates so far and liked them fairly well. They dust a bit, but braking is excellent and they don't really squeak any at all. Initial bite is ok, but they're better once warmed up a bit, as most pads are I think. Haven't gotten to try them on a road course though.

Switched over to Brake Best Select from Kragen and it's all gravy. It has that quick initial bite and will hold if you press harder.
Guess depends on the person if they like the quick/jerky bite or the gradual dragging bite.
i must admit that i jumped on the hawk (hps) pads, and i love the braking performance. i have yet to really heat them up (constant braking from high speeds, but they work good even at cold and as long as i own a honda, wont be running anything else.
