Default GPS Snitch Any Good????

Is this tracking device any good? This is one more layer I would like to have on my pride and joy, but definitely do not want to sacrifice quality and reliability for price affordability. Desmond what is your take on these?

I put this unit up to the text with the dei/mobile iq gps. The snitch did not even have service and was not able to be tracked inside of the shop. It lost range. As the dei/mobile iq had perfect range and located accurate of 5 feet indoors. It showed the business next door. I can live with that.

Both test were done with the same install. Both cars had the dash removed and the unit placed were I normaly do gps installs.

The only time I had the unit perform correctly was when I installed it in the headliner. Then is was accurate like the dei/mobile iq units.

My imo.(The goods) Good unit for cost and better then nonething. Easy to work with and install. User friendly web page. Can go car to car if you decide to switch cars for that day. (dei/ mobile iq is kind of like a perm install till you decide to take the whole system out).

The bad. Battery did not last to long. I guessing from trying to power up to find lost signal. Does not work good in a full stealth install. Was not as acurate all the time. Recover time. It took a full 15-20 for the unit to recover from a out of service state. Verses the dei 2 min. Thats really bad.

IF you can not afford a car based gps please go with something like this. IT could save your car. Its woth it. If you can afford a real unit like the dei/mobile iq, computrack, accutrack, c-8 tracking please go this route. I rather pay more and know that the unit is working. Then to have my car stolen and go to track it and it shows out of range. Or the unit is found when they break the car down looking for lo-jack or any non installed correctly tracking or alarm system.

ok sounds good, can the 210v units still be used? I thought you said before that they are being discontinued because of all the ebay sales of them.

Dei is no longer selling because of dropping sells cause of bad dealers selling to third parties. All new ones that are still in stock will be transfered over to mobile iq. Mobile iq is the service that you were using when you had a dei unit. Mobile iq unit is the same as the dei unit except by one thing. You can use the dei alarms and and plug and play triggers thru the esp port. You can't on the mobile iq version. Do not buy them off the net. There are some people selling defect units on there and they can not be activated. There are alot of dealers that still have them.
