brake upgrades for an ls
I need to know if I would be ok with just upgradeing my rotors and pads on my stock ls brakes . I do track the car but as of right now the car is only making 180 hp. Just needs some advice on what I should do about a brake set up .
Well my current brakes are shot ..So I figure I would just upgrade my brakes with nicer rotors and pads. The current brakes are find for what I have for now but I plan on turbo the car this spring and I just want to make sure I have enough stopping power .
Autozone Duralast rotors, good pads, fresh high temp rated brake fluid.
Hawk HP+ pads lasted me just fine on my GSR, running on the big track at Willow Springs on a 105* day. Integras have good brakes stock. Go for an even more aggressive pad if street duty isn't part of the equation.
No reason to use "nicer rotors". On a track car, rotors are a wear item. Run the cheapest ones you can, and replace them with the pads. You only need to consider "good" rotors when you try and run an enduro.
