Restoring Quiet To An Older Accord
I've often wondered if there is any way to restore the "tight-ness" to my aging 97 Accord. I remember driving it off the showroom floor and noticing how solid and tight it felt and drove. I guess most new cars are this way. I really have zero complaints as this car has been trouble free since new. but it seems to have much more road noise over the years. Has anyone tried replacing door weather stripping and has it made a difference? I guess there are all sorts of things....aging bearings, various components, etc that just get old and could contribute to this. I've sprayed silicone on rubber bushings under cars before and this seems to help for a little while, but I don't think that silicone is good for rubber so I don't do it often. Anybody..?
Ball joints
Sway Bar endlinks
Bushings
Alignment
Motor mounts
Bunch of stuff you can check and fix/replace to get it stiffer again, I need to do it on my '97 VP

this actually reminds me of something... I get a whistling noise that seem to come through the air vents (not the weather trim etc) at any speed above 55mph or so, getting progressively louder as I go faster... its not too loud with the radio on but clearly noticeable..
Any ideas?
If indeed it is coming through the venting, could it be that some switch or vent isnt completely closed when it should be?
thanks
