Best used auto trans for an 01 4cly...98 - 03?
Well, it is time to buy a used trans for my wife's 2001 accord lx 4cl auto. I know they were warrantying some 2000 and 01's (I think) So should I buy one from a 98? Where they not failing also? What about 2003, are they the same? I was just thinking I would try and at least avoid those years that were really prone to failing? What would the best year be to get one from. I would think the newest year possible but what years will work? What do y'all think?
Thanks,
Chad

I am not aware of any updates made to the remans. Mine and many others have failed within short periods of time after Honda had installed Honda reman trannys. They are junk and I am not going to pay Honda $3,200 for a part that will prob go out again. My last trans, a honda reman trans, died after 2 years and 39K miles. I just read about another one that died 1.5 years and 8K miles later. Junk, junk, junk. For that price I can install (myself)6or more used trannys. I am not convinced, in fact I am certian, that it just does not make sense to pay more for a suspect part. Just because it has Honda on it does not make it worth a penny more.
Thanks,
Chad
