Hey guys i have a 94 teggy 5 speed. 77k

basically bought the car to learn stick.... i was driving it and stalled a couple time .. not the first time. then i stalled and the car would not start back. it will crank but will not start.

what could it be?

Distributor. Doubt the main relay would go, its a little too new for that.

 

what can i do to fix that?

consult your vehicle manual or google it.The distributor is not hard to find.People like me will not bother telling you where it is located it.

The distributor is the thing your spark plug wires run to.

Just look it over. Your welcome to disassemble it and PM pictures to me. To see if the button or cap is toasted.

 

I personally say... Get a new cap and button, there like 30$. Its more or less regular maintenance in IMO, kinda like changing your spark plugs.

Perahaps all the thumping from stalling loosened a ground???? its a possibility.

 

ok i opened it.. i could not get the rotor off but i did see that there was some rust.. could that be the problem?

 

iv had this happen to my a hundred times.. hondas have a notoriously weak ingition coil (inside the distributer) and that is sometimes how they blow, works great then all of the sudden, no warning, they blow and all the engine does is turn over.. if you take the distributer cap off with the 3 screws that hold it on its the big rectangleular box on the top inside..you should be able to get one at any auto parts store for like $15-$20.. GL

 

ok well im goin to replace the dizzy... and i might as well do a tune up.. anyone know a good website to order the dizzy and some tune up parts (sparks, fuel filter, seals, oil)?
