Possible to install a turbo without showing the the whole world?
I want to install a turbo on my civic, but I want to keep my car looking as stock as possible to avoid attention from cops and stuff. I have noticed that people with turbo's in their civics almost always have the turbo showing, like they cut their bumpers, I dont know if its just to show it off, or you actually have to cut your bumper. But I was wondering if it is possible to have a turbo without revealing I have one.
Yes, it is possible for you to put an entire turbo kit/system on a car without you even knowing it's there even if you pop the hood and don't start poking around at things.
Its mostly to allow the most air flow possible to reach the intercooler. I would imagine some like to show it off, but its mostly for performance.
You could always paint the intercooler black to hide it.

If you get a sidemount intercooler you cant see it; but you wont get as much airflow.
And dont get a loud blowoff valve you wont hear it.
And dont smoke yamaha R1's on the freeway and no one will know.

Paint your intercooler and piping black. Thats what I did people think i have a b16 or something with VTEC then they pull up thinking im just trying to hang with the big boys..seconds later i smoke the crap out of those eVos/subbys! lol
